We Have Started A New Dino Run 2 Crowdfunding Campaign (!)

Hello Backers Of Old,

This message is to let you know that last week we officially started a new crowdfunding endeavor for DINO RUN 2.

This is a different type of funding campaign, focused (for now) on building a fully complete and polished vertical slice of the game – a single level with all the bells and whistles.  We are approaching the endeavor in small, carefully planned stages, instead of the previous all-or-nothing extravaganza.

Visit the DINO RUN 2 CROWDFUNDING SITE for more info and a detailed roadmap on how we intend to get it done, and what we will deliver.

We are also setting up a development stream to show daily & weekly progress on the game, and delivering everything we create to all funders – art, music, prototypes & experiments, alphas, betas, etc…

Here is a camera / parallax test we recently completed in Unity, the game’s engine:

A couple more things:

– We are also going to launch a new, smaller Kickstarter campaign in January of 2018, and the funds raised from that will be rolled into the main campaign on our site, unlocking new milestones and deliverables. If you are interested in supporting the project, you could do it directly now and get access to our development stream right away (currently in a funders-only discord channel)  or wait until the Kickstarter campaign starts if you want to go that route again.  Or you could do both! 🙂

– We have a discord server now (as mentioned previously) where you can hang out with us and talk about Dino Run 2 and anything else: https://discordapp.com/invite/t2Zezwr

– If you’d like to help us spread the news of our campaign launch, you can share this tweet: https://twitter.com/pixeljamgames/status/932693480572358656

We hope this message finds you well, and look forward to tackling this exciting endeavor again.

DINO RUN 2 – Exploratory Fund Phase 1 Has Launched!

Hello backers,

We have unveiled our plan to make DINO RUN 2 today. It is a long-term, multi-phase effort.

PHASE 1 starts today: we are putting Dino Run DX on sale for 50% off for a week, and all money from that Steam sale goes into our EXPLORATORY FUND, which will be used to make initial prototypes and experiments.

Here is how you can help:

1) Consider buying Dino Run DX on Steam this week – the more people buy it, the more Steam shows it to new people, which results in a positive feedback loop. Nice! Track progress of our sales on dinorun2.com

2) If you already own Dino Run DX, consider buying it for a friend (or 2 or 3), or wait until PHASE 2 or PHASE 3, which will have reward tiers and more direct ways to support the campaign.

 3) Share our announcements! Please! Every Twitter RT or Facebook share is a huge help:

FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/pixeljamgames/posts/1600445819973978

We’ll be launching PHASE 2 in a month or so, which will be styled more like our original Dino Run DX campaign (and might include a small Kickstarter campaign) with roadmaps and rewards. If you don’t buy DX this week, please consider contributing to future campaigns.

We’re officially trying this again, and we hope you will join us for the ride!

Take care,

-Miles @ Pixeljam

The return of Dino Run 2? (!)

The Dino Run 2 artist just launched a Kickstarter for his own game :)

Hello all,

Remember Dino Run 2?  I would imagine so…  well, remember Jeffrey Nielson who did all the great artwork for the campaign?  He’s been working on his dream game for years now (shortly after the DR2 campaign ended) and just revealed it to the world:

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1429475366/nova-drift

It’s a ship-crafting, retro-influenced arcade shooter… and Pixeljam is helping him ship it in Early 2018.  All pledgers get early beta access to the game in June of 2017.

This campaign is mainly to raise funds for music and sound effects, which is not in his current budget.  Check it out if you have a moment, and if you are feeling even more generous, help us spread the word:

Thanks for checking it out, if you do!

Miles @ Pixeljam just launched a little 7-day KS campaign : CHEAP GOLF

Hello Glorious Dino Backers,

It’s been a long time! I hope this message finds you well.

This update is about a little 7 day campaign I just launched, called Cheap Golf:

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/milestilmann/cheap-golf

It’s a hybrid of low-poly mini golf and surreal humor.

Anyone that pledges at the 5-23 dollar levels will get those rewards regardless of funding success. So if I fail, you still get free stuff.  If you haven’t picked up Dino Run DX yet, this is a good time to do it! 🙂

If you are feeling extra awesome today, please help spread the word: https://twitter.com/pixeljamgames/status/843884266647945216

Thanks for reading, and take care…
